Welcome to San Gabriel Valley Umpire Association!!

San Gabriel Valley Umpire Association (SGVUA) was founded in 1956. It is the oldest and largest baseball umpire associations in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding areas. The Association was formed to provide a group of knowledgeable umpires to serve baseball leagues in the area and to serve the youth of the San Gabriel Valley in learning the game of baseball. It is the only association to provide free training to new baseball umpires. SGVUA currently has approximately 100 umpires serving 22 Leagues in the San Gabriel Valley. Training meetings are held each Wednesday evening from January through March for spring ball and September through October for winter ball. Rules and mechanics are discussed for Little League, Pony League and Softball. SGVUA is dedicated in providing the best umpire service in the San Gabriel Valley. We take pride in our ability to produce the best trained and most experienced umpires for any league. We provide year round training. We are always looking for experienced topnotch umpires to join our team. Inexperienced with ambition, desire and love of the game also welcome.
